Mobile Technologies

Some Mobile Terminologies are being explained here

A2DP

A2DP stands for Advanced Audio Distribution Profiles.

For changing to high quality stereo audio from mobile phone to stereo headset,this technology is being used.
If we want to send audio from mobile phone to bluetooth headset,then this technology has to be updated.

GPRS

GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Service.

This Technology is being used as a way for getting Internet in mobile phone.
Using this technology ur, mobile phone will act as modem and when connected to PC,we can obtain internet connection in PC.
Data Transmission are done at a speed of 115 kbps.
In India however this much speed is not obtained.

EDGE

EDGE stands for Enchanced Datarate For GSM Evolution.

This technology offers internet connection to mobile phones with higher speed.
Data transmissions are done at a speed of 384 Kbps.
Thus the speed is 3 times more than GPRS based data transmissions.
This technology needs extra bandwidth but can easily transmit multimedia(faster and easier transfer).

HSPA

HSPA stands for High Speed Packet Access.

This technology works with base of 3G technology.
Thus it is sometimes refered as 3.5G.
Using HSPA, downloading rate of 14.4 Mbps and Uploading rate of 5.76 Mbps can be achieved.
These type of networks are currently not available in India.

DVB-H

DVB-H stands for Digital Video Broadcasting Handheld.

Using this technology,TV signals are being transmitted to mobile phones.
At present in India ,certain companies are using this technology.
But after the arrival of 3G,this service gets expanded or can be used in large scale.
